Ngapeke Farm is a prominent 750ha (eff) 8,000su Sheep and Beef breeding and finishing farm, committed to sustainable farming practices and excellence in animal husbandry. Situated in the picturesque landscapes of Otorohanga, Waikato, the farm is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Shepherd General / Block Manager.

Job Description:

The Shepherd General / Block Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of half of our farm, encompassing 375 hectares. This role requires a hands-on approach to sheep and beef breeding and finishing, emphasizing the well-being of our livestock and the overall success of our operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• NZ residency/right to work with no restrictions and NZ driver's license.
• Ownership of at least 3 capable working dogs.
• Proven experience in stock handling, including drenching, docking, dagging, and weighing.
• Proficiency in repairs and maintenance of conventional and electric fences, as well as water systems.
• Basic skills in plant and vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Weed control expertise.
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work well within a team.
• A 'can do' attitude.

Additional Information:

The position comes with a modern, well-situated, insulated 3-bedroom house located 18km from Otorohanga and 15km from Te Kuiti. Applicants with less experience but a great attitude will be considered.
