We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Casual Farm Hand & Tractor Operator to join our team at our farm in Comboyne, Port Macquarie & Mid North Coast NSW.

Position Overview:

This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining farm implements, tractors, and spraying units to carry out essential tasks such as the application of sprays, fertilizer programs, and general farm maintenance. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Farm Manager and Agronomy team to achieve horticultural objectives and maintain a strong focus on safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain farm implements, tractors, and spraying units.
• Collaborate with the Agronomy team to ensure timely and accurate application of sprays and fertilizer programs.
• Keep detailed and up-to-date farm records using established templates.
• Utilize Airblaster for applying fungicide, nutrient, and insecticide sprays at specified volumes for various orchards.
• Operate herbicide spray vats, applying herbicides at desired rates, including spot sprays.
• Calibrate all farm machinery to meet desired application rates.
• Conduct tasks such as slashing, mulching, pruning, and irrigation repairs as needed.
• Engage in other general farm duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 2-5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Essential experience in the operation of farm machinery.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Results-oriented with a focus on achieving objectives.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people.
• Solid understanding of OHS&W principles.
• Good time management and communication skills.
• Current driver’s license.
• Desired: Chemical accreditation certificate (e.g., ChemCert or equivalent).
