Farm Coordinators (Harvest/Operations) - Blueberry Farm, Atherton, FNQ

Position Type:

Permanent, Full-Time

Responsibilities:

Harvest Planning:

Assist in creating and maintaining a block picking plan for Blueberry fruit harvesting.

Crew Coordination:

Assist Harvest Manager in establishing and maintaining crews based on fruit volumes and picking plans.

Supervision and Support:

  • Collaborate with Harvest Manager to supervise Harvest Support team.
  • Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and act as a point of contact for queries.

Efficiency and Quality:

  • Aid Field Supervisors in planning and executing harvest tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems and completion of relevant paperwork.

Data Analysis and Projection:

  • Contribute to the production of accurate projections for daily, weekly, and longer-term fruit yield.
  • Provide picking rate figures for effective monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Resource Planning

  • Ensure availability of appropriate resources (personnel and equipment) for harvest crews.
  • Develop short-term people and equipment resourcing plans.

Operational Coordination:

Support Operations Manager in coordinating all operational farm activities related to harvesting.

Budget and KPI Monitoring:

  • Maintain awareness of departmental budgets and performance against budget.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and work towards driving down costs and improving overall performance.

Horticultural Feedback:

Support Harvest Manager in providing detailed feedback to the Horticultural team to improve crop performance.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other duties related to operations as required or requested by the Harvest Manager.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months). Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (7 to 12 months).
  • Qualifications: Current driver's license is essential.
  • Skill Set: Excellent at managing deadlines, accurate data entry, proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Work seamlessly within a team and communicate effectively across diverse backgrounds.
  • Values Centric: Showcase values-based behavior in your approach to safety, emphasizing integrity, collaboration, and commitment.
