We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team and contribute to the success of our farm.

Position Overview:

As a Dairy Farm Assistant at Turks Poultry Farm, you will be responsible for a diverse range of farm tasks, including managing animal welfare, feed rotation, stock movement for milking, water system checks, fencing, and other essential farm duties. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this challenging yet rewarding position offers an opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Animal care, feeding, and watering, with a focus on monitoring health and administering medication as directed by the vet, particularly during calving.
2. Milking cows at scheduled times, ensuring equipment functionality, hygiene, and milk quality.
3. Participating in general farm maintenance, including cleaning, minor repairs, and supporting agriculture unit operations.
4. Accurate record-keeping and logging of essential information.
5. Operating and conducting pre-op checks on tractors, quadbikes, tele-handler, and other equipment.
6. Adhering to health and safety protocols, identifying hazards, and complying with biosecurity requirements.
7. Performing general farm duties as required.

Requirements:

1. Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the dairy farming or primary industry.
2. Strong problem-solving skills.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, early starts, and flexibility with working hours.

Remuneration:

• Pay rate: $29.66 per hour.
• Estimated actual earnings for a 40-hour week: $1,186.40.
• Minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week.
