Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Station Hand to join our team at our Coleraine, Horsham & Grampians operations. As a Station Hand, you will not only be responsible for day-to-day station duties but will also actively participate in key animal husbandry tasks, pasture monitoring, record keeping, hay and silage making activities, machinery operation, and basic maintenance. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our agricultural endeavors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and managing key animal husbandry tasks
- Monitor pastures and maintain accurate records
- Participate in hay and silage making activities
- Operate machinery and assist with basic maintenance, service, and repair
- Check stock waters and assist with maintenance, service, and repair of water infrastructure and fencing
- Collaborate with the team to achieve operational goals
- Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year experience working with cattle and sheep
- Machinery operation and general farm maintenance experience highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products
