Cheshunt Pastoral, an innovative and sustainable multigenerational dairy enterprise, is seeking a passionate and adaptable individual to join our vibrant team as a Farm Hand. Located in the picturesque Meander region, our farm encompasses a range of operations, including dairy, herd health, breeding programs, calf rearing, young stock programs, winter feed production (silage, hay, and fodder crops), irrigation, pasture renovation, fencing, and more!

About Us:

• We are a young and dynamic team of 8 individuals, with an average age in the mid-20s (20-31) and a couple of experienced hands.
• Committed to sustainable farming practices, we were honored with the Dairy Environmental Award at the Dairy Tasmania Awards for our efforts in recycling, effluent utilization, and organic material application.
• Our primary enterprise is in dairy, producing high-quality milk used in various food products, including fresh milk, coffee, cheese, yogurt, and more.
• We operate a state-of-the-art 70-bale rotary dairy with cutting-edge technology for improved operator experience, herd health monitoring, and production optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in dairy operations, herd management programs, and other farm activities as seasons require.
• Contribute to the diverse range of tasks involved in dairy farming, including feeding, health monitoring, breeding programs, and more.
• Operate and maintain modern farm machinery, including loaders, tractors with GPS guidance, wagons, implements, and side-by-side ATV's.
• Embrace a flexible work schedule, accommodating early mornings, afternoons, weekdays, and weekends based on availability.

Requirements:

• Passion for working outdoors and experiencing the beauty of Tasmanian landscapes.
• Ability to adapt to a variety of tasks and learn new skills.
• Comfortable working with large animals and participating in practical tasks, including calving.
• Effective team player and capable of working independently after training.
• Practical, common-sense approach to problem-solving.
