 Job Title: Farm Hand and Home Assistant

Location: Harvey, Bunbury & South West WA

Hourly Rate: $30 – $35 per hour

Italiano Trading Trust is currently seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team as a Farm Hand and Home Assistant. This unique position involves providing assistance to a vision-impaired elderly farmer who is active and requires support with farm duties, driving, and household tasks.

Responsibilities:

Driving Duties:

• Transporting the gentleman to and from the farm and personal appointments.
• Limited alcohol consumption due to driving requirements.

Farm Hand Duties:

• Feeding cattle, farm animals, and general farm maintenance (approximately 3 hours per day).

Home Assistance:

• Cooking and household maintenance and cleaning (approximately 3 hours per day).
• Food shopping, preparing packed lunches, paying household bills.
• Household cleaning and maintenance tasks (changing bed linen, cleaning cupboards).

Qualifications and Skills:

• Ability to drive and assist with transportation.
• Proficient in cooking and household tasks.
• Enjoyment of the outdoors and comfort around animals.
• Friendly, easy-going personality.

Additional Information:

• The gentleman is vision impaired but easy to live with and has built trusted bonds with former au pairs.
• The position requires readiness for morning farm hand work, driving in the morning and evening, and maintaining the home.
• Weekly household shopping is part of the responsibilities.
• Accommodation provided within the large family home, including a fully-contained bedroom and bathroom.
• Car available upon request.
• Food and accommodation provided with a small allocated payment.
• Located 140kms south of Perth with daily train and bus services available to and from the city.
• Close to large regional towns in the attractive southwest Margaret River region.
• The local town offers all amenities, including a gym, local pool, hospital, shops, and pubs.

Additional Benefits:

• Opportunity for 2nd-year visa sign-off.
• Immediate start required, and the commitment is for a minimum of three to six months.
