Our Te Aroha site in the Waikato stands as one of Silver Fern Farms' most modern and advanced processing facilities in New Zealand. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our dynamic engineering team.

Position Overview:

As a vital member of our engineering team, the Maintenance Electrician will play a hands-on role in day-to-day mechanical repairs and maintenance activities. Working within a robust engineering team of 15, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to projects, installations, and a variety of electrical applications across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify faults and provide top-level service to the processing plant.
• Work in a sole-charge capacity when required, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
• Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and communicate effectively with team members.
• Participate in projects and installations of new site equipment.
• Embrace a culture of continuous learning and upskilling.

Qualifications:

• Relevant Trades Qualification and Full NZEWRB Electrical registration.
• Previous experience in FMCG or transferrable production engineering environments is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of sound electrical principles and repairs and maintenance procedures in a large industrial processing setting.
• Exposure to PLC and VSDs in a past role.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a tight-knit team.
• Organized, with strong planning and prioritization skills.
• Desire to keep learning and upskill in areas such as leadership, dual trading into refrigeration, or project design.

Working Hours:

Our site operates both day and evening shifts, covering production hours from 6 am to 3 am Monday to Friday, with occasional daytime overtime on Saturdays. Flexibility to business needs is crucial.
