Position Overview:

As a Livestock Farm Manager, you will play a crucial role in our mission, ensuring meticulous management of feed production and adhering to diet formulations for optimal livestock nourishment. This hands-on role requires collaboration with a highly engaged team of owner operators. Key responsibilities include:

• Diligently follow specific feed recipes and accurately weigh ingredients.
• Multitask effectively, recognizing the critical timing at various stages of the operation.
• Competently operate various farming machinery and equipment.
• Exhibit flexibility to respond to dynamic production requirements.
• Demonstrate physical stamina and strength for a role that entails physicality.
• Drive tractor, manual ute, and other vehicles (forklift license advantageous, training provided).
• Cleaning and sanitizing of pens and facilities.
• Adhere to biosecurity rules and policies.
• Health and safety compliance.
• Effluent management.
• Feeding, drenching, vaccinating, medicating as per operational needs.
• Record keeping and communication with owners.
• Handling livestock; shifting, mating, or AI.
• Repair and maintenance; identifying, reporting, and solving problems.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Comfortable with technology.
• Valid New Zealand driver's license (essential).
• Ability to work six days a week, approximately 45-50 hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Flexibility for occasional overtime to meet operational demand.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical check and drug/alcohol testing.
• Comfortable with the strong smell of pig manure.
