About Us:

South West Shearing Limited is a well-established and reputable shearing company located in Lawrence, Otago. We are currently seeking experienced Wool Handlers and Shearers who can shear 220+ sheep per day to join our team for a fixed-term position from January 2024 to April 2024, with the possibility of further employment at the end of the fixed term.

Job Description:

Shearers:

As an experienced Shearer at South West Shearing Limited, you will be responsible for shearing sheep efficiently and with precision. Shearers who can achieve a daily shearing count of 220+ will be compensated at a piece base rate, plus entitlements. Earnings for capable shearers can range from $65 to $80 per hour, depending on capability and variables.

Wool Handlers:

Wool Handlers play a crucial role in the shearing process, ensuring that the wool is collected and prepared for processing. The rate for Wool Handlers is based on skill level.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License.
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Minimum skills and qualifications required, with opportunities for further training and upskilling.

Working Conditions:

• 6-7 days per week, paid weekly, depending on weather and client requirements.
• Accommodation available on a single basis.
