Job Description:

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking company as a Dairy Farm Assistant on a permanent basis. Located near Christchurch, our farm boasts an impressive herd of 950 cows. You'll work closely with an Operations Manager and the Synlait team while being part of a rotating roster of 6 days on and 2 days off.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Farm Manager in achieving production and profitability targets
• Participate in all farm management activities as required
• Contribute to efficient and hygienic milking routines
• Maintain high milk quality following our procedures
• Ensure the safe handling of animals and promptly report health and welfare issues
• Assist with on-farm stock feeding and young stock growth, adjusting feed needs during lactation

Qualifications and Skills:

• At least 2 years of full-time work experience in any industry (Agricultural work experience preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Affinity for animals
• NCEA level 2 (preferred)
• Full clean driver's license (required)
