Arterra Wines Canada's Western Viticulture Department operates premium vineyards across the South Okanagan, stretching from Osoyoos to Summerland. Our vineyards boast a diverse range of grape varieties, soil types, and growing conditions, making them an integral part of Canada's wine industry. We are currently seeking a dedicated and organized Vineyard Supervisor to join our team at our Viticulture Office in Oliver, BC.

Position Overview:

As a Vineyard Supervisor at Arterra Wines Canada, you will play a vital role in managing day-to-day vineyard operations, ensuring the production of top-quality fruit while maintaining cost-efficiency. You will lead a team of skilled viticulture professionals and operate various vineyard equipment, contributing to our commitment to excellence in winemaking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and oversee all vineyard tasks to ensure timely and efficient completion.
• Collaborate closely with Vineyard Managers and the Viticulture Technical team to implement Vineyard Plans.
• Maintain expertise in critical vineyard operations and management functions.
• Provide competency training and development for vineyard staff.
• Ensure safe and effective operation of vineyard equipment, including pruning, canopy management, disease/pest control, harvesting, and irrigation management.
• Promote and ensure compliance with HR Policies & Procedures and OH&S guidelines.
• Achieve all goals within allocated budget levels.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of hands-on vineyard experience.
• Post-secondary education in Viticulture or Horticulture is an asset.
• Valid Pesticide Applicators Certificate is a plus.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or crew leadership role.
• Competency in the safe operation of vineyard equipment.
• Familiarity with pruning, canopy management, disease/pest control, harvesting, and irrigation management.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
• Spanish language proficiency is an asset.
• Successful experience in delivering hands-on training for workers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, both in people and technical aspects.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Working knowledge of Word/Excel.
• Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the vineyard, including evenings and weekends.
