About Jacinth-Ambrosia:
Jacinth-Ambrosia, located 270 kilometers north of Ceduna, is the world's largest source of zircon. It's a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. The operation is dedicated to high environmental standards and progressive land rehabilitation. We are also committed to indigenous employment, with 20% of our workforce being indigenous. About the Role:
The Metallurgical Assistant position is a permanent role based at Jacinth-Ambrosia, operating on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off roster, with fly-in/fly-out options from Adelaide or Ceduna. Reporting to the Process Engineer, you will assist in optimizing metallurgical test work, involving sample preparation and analysis, monitoring, and reporting. This role demands a strong focus on Environment, Health, and Safety, and the ability to autonomously complete work with a high attention to detail under time pressure.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collect routine and ad-hoc samples from within the Wet Concentrator Plant.
- Process routine and ad-hoc samples in the site laboratory and present results.
- Monitor the performance of the Wet Concentrator Plant, including heavy mineral concentrate grade, recovery, and water quality.
- Provide advice to the Operations team for adjusting Wet Concentrator Plant settings.
- Review and develop safe work instructions and procedures for routine tasks.
- Ensure the maintenance of laboratory equipment and stock levels.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Effective time management skills.
- Demonstrated capability to work autonomously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience as a Metallurgical Assistant or Operator is desirable.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel is desirable.
- Previous mining or processing experience is desirable.
