About Us:
Marlu Farms is a well-established crop and sheep enterprise, spread across three areas in Lubeck, Dadswells Bridge, and Lake Lonsdale, Victoria. In 2024, we operate 1200 hectares of crop and maintain 2050 hectares as pasture, specializing in breeding 7000 lambs annually. We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Farm Hand.
About the Role:
This full-time position commences in mid to late November (negotiable start date) and involves active participation in our sheep farming operations, as we predominantly focus on sheep farming. During peak seasons, you will spend weeks in the paddocks operating machinery such as tractors, an air seeder, and header. Between busy periods, you will be involved in various farm projects, including fencing and ongoing development.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. The ability to work extended hours during busy times is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Performing various sheep-related tasks, including rousing, crutching, and lamb marking.
- Operating farm machinery, including tractors.
- Assisting with the harvest.
- Building and repairing fences.
- Undertaking general farm duties.
Essential Requirements:
- Australian driver’s license.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Capability to work independently.
- High levels of self-motivation, initiative, and enthusiasm.
- Willingness to learn.
Beneficial Skills:
- Chemical user’s permit (advantageous).
- Proficiency with a handpiece.
- Chainsaw operation skills.
- Welding abilities.
Trial Period:
There will be a 6-month trial period, followed by a restructuring of the payment scheme.

Marlu Farms is conveniently located 30 minutes from Horsham and 30 minutes from Stawell in Victoria.
