Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Farm Hand to join our team.  you will play an integral role in our farm operations, working closely with your colleagues to contribute to our farm's success. With more than 27,000 acres of highly productive land under management, you will have the opportunity to work across various enterprises, ensuring that no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include working with sheep, cattle, fencing, machinery, chemicals, and general farm-related tasks, all while prioritizing safety.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, your duties will involve:

  • Ensuring the highest standards of animal health and welfare.
  • Maintaining accurate stock, chemical, and feeding records.
  • Operating and maintaining plant and equipment while contributing to the development of the farm properties.
  • Adhering to company policies and safe work procedures.
  • Strictly following Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning by actively participating in farm pasture walks, training days, and workshops.

About You:

To excel in this role, you should be a resilient, energetic, and self-motivated individual. Ideally, you will have:

  • At least two years of experience in a livestock-based farm position.
  • A willingness to acquire and train working dogs (if not owned already), which is essential.
  • Skills in operating tractors, quadbikes, and motorbikes.
  • Strong fencing abilities.
  • Initiative to complete operational tasks that contribute to the team's success.
  • A commitment to supporting and adhering to safe work procedures.
  • A willingness to learn new systems of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions from management and peers, working effectively as a valuable team member.
  • Knowledge of AgriWebb farm management software is advantageous but can be learned on the job.

Merino experience is advantageous, but applicants with dairy, cattle, or crossbred sheep backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
