Job Description:

As a Farm Hand at Dunkeld Pastoral Co Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the success of our diverse farms and enterprises in the Southern Grampians region. With over 27,000 acres of highly productive land under management, you will have the opportunity to engage in various aspects of farming, from working with livestock to fencing, machinery operation, chemical applications, and general farm-related duties. Safety is our top priority in all activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the highest standards of animal health and welfare.
• Keep accurate records of stock, chemicals, and feeding.
• Operate and maintain plant and equipment, contributing to the development of farm properties.
• Adhere to company policies and safe work procedures.
• Strictly follow Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning by actively participating in farm pasture walks, training days, and workshops.

Qualifications:

• At least two years of experience in a livestock-based farm position.
• Willingness to acquire and train working dogs (if not owned already).
• Proficiency in operating tractors, quadbikes, and motorbikes.
• Strong fencing skills.
• Initiative to complete operational tasks that benefit the team.
• Ability to support and work toward safe work procedures.
• Willingness to learn new systems of work.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions from management and peers and work as a valuable team member.
• Knowledge of AgriWebb farm management software is advantageous but can be learned on the job.
• Merino experience is advantageous, but applicants with dairy, cattle, or crossbred sheep backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
