Job Description:
We are seeking an Experienced Farm Worker to join our dynamic team at JSP Farms. As an Experienced Farm Worker, you will play a crucial role in various aspects of our agricultural operations, including planting, cultivating, harvesting crops, and equipment maintenance. We welcome foreign applicants with Canadian work permits or permanent residency status.
Responsibilities:
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest crops following instructions and best practices.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, grain carts, combines, and more.
- Monitor and irrigate fields, ensuring optimal water levels.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals as directed.
- Assist with livestock care, including feeding, cleaning, and milking.
- Perform general farm maintenance tasks, such as fence and building repairs.
- Sort and pack harvested crops for transport.
Skills:
- Valid driver's license, class 1A preferred.
- Experience in basic maintenance of farm equipment, including tractors, augers, pumps, semis, combines, grain carts, and grain vacuum.
- Comfortable with yard site maintenance tasks like cleaning bins, mowing grass, and weed spraying.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating quantities.
- Ability to use hand tools and operate machinery safely.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long hours of outdoor work.
- Attention to detail for following instructions and maintaining accuracy.
