The Opportunity

We have an exciting new opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Tractor Operator.

Reporting to our Onion Harvest Manager, you will be responsible for operating tractors in our onion harvest operations. This role allows you to work outdoors, directly on our farms, and become an integral part of the harvest team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate farm machinery, including tractors, during the onion harvest.
• Ensure safe and proficient operation of machinery.
• Maintain required standards of hygiene.
• Adhere to farm policies and standard operating procedures.
• Assist the harvest team in achieving optimal KPI targets.

About You

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about fresh produce, continuous improvement, and thrive in a diverse team environment. To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience operating tractors in a field environment, including forklift tractors (other machinery operation experience is advantageous).
• Ability to travel independently between farming sites.
• Flexibility to work varied hours if required.
• Reliability and commitment to working up to 7 days per week.
• Strong safety awareness.
• The ability to work under pressure in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Current driver's license and full Australian working rights.
• Forklift license preferred but not essential.

This casual position is based across our South-East Queensland farming sites, including Kalbar, Clintonvale, and Gatton. It is ideally suited for candidates living locally or willing to travel between these beautiful regions.

Positions Available:

With a busy season ahead at Kalfresh, we are looking to hire TWO dedicated tractor drivers to join our team. The current intake for successful applicants will be in early October, and the season will run from October 2023 to January 2024.
