Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are looking for dedicated shearers and a skilled wool handler to be part of our team during the busy season, starting on December 1, 2023. This is an opportunity to work in a professional and dynamic environment with competitive pay rates.

Shearer Responsibilities:

  • Perform heavy physical activity and shear a minimum of 250+ sheep per day.
  • Work a minimum of 30 hours a week.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the industry.
  • Supply and maintain your own shearing gear.
  • Maintain a high standard of animal welfare during the shearing process.
  • Work efficiently and contribute to our team's success.

Wool Handler Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, sort, and present wool to the presser.
  • Work a minimum of 30 hours a week.
  • Ensure the efficient handling and processing of wool.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements for All Positions:

  • Must possess a valid New Zealand driver's license.
  • Must be drug-free.
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

Pay Rates:

  • Shearers: Minimum $2.50 per head.
  • Wool Handlers: $28 per hour.
