A Bit About the Role:

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for fieldwork on animal and plant pest control operations in the Christchurch region, ensuring we meet our contract requirements. Your self-motivation and energy are essential, as you'll work either independently or as part of a small team. Your tasks will include trapping, baiting, surveying, and monitoring of pest animals like possums, rabbits, and ferrets, as well as controlling pest plants like gorse and broom.

Safety and risk management are paramount, as you'll spend extended periods in the field. You'll need to use GPS and handheld recording devices and maintain accurate records. Training will be provided to the successful applicant, but attention to detail in record-keeping is critical.

Important Skills:

• Understanding of animal behaviors through leisure activities or work in a rural environment.
• Passion and knowledge of the outdoors.
• Class 1 Full New Zealand driver’s license.
• Experience operating a 4 Wheel Drive and/or Light Utility Vehicle (preferred).
• First aid certificate (beneficial).
• Strong focus on health and safety.
• Ability to work away from home for extended periods (accommodation and other benefits provided).
