Kercargo is a family-owned farming operation located in the picturesque North West region of New South Wales. We manage a diverse 27,000-acre farming enterprise, encompassing dry land cropping, flood irrigated cropping, and grazing. We take pride in our commitment to sustainable and productive agriculture.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Farmhand to join our team for an immediate start. As a Farmhand at Kercargo, you will be an integral part of our operations, assisting with various farming activities across our property.

Responsibilities:

• Involvement in dry land cropping (wheat, chickpeas, faba beans).
• Participation in irrigated cropping, primarily cotton.
• Caring for our breeder herd of shorthorn and Angus x cows (430 head).
• General farm maintenance tasks including fencing, yard building, and infrastructure work.
• Flood irrigation management, including syphon operation and channel height control.
• Operating GPS systems and heavy machinery (experience is an advantage).

Qualifications:

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and a high level of energy.
• Willingness to engage in various farm enterprises.
• Experience in fencing, yard building, and farm infrastructure.
• Familiarity with flood irrigation and syphon management.
• Experience with GPS systems and heavy machinery is advantageous.
• Valid car license is required.

Accommodation:

• On-farm, air-conditioned, furnished 3-bedroom cottage.
• Work vehicle provided.
