Our client, located just 180km north of Perth in the stunning Koojan region, is seeking two skilled Operators to join their team for pre-harvest duties, hay, and harvest season. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals or couples, as both donga and house accommodations are available. Our client highly values extensive hay and harvest experience and is willing to offer competitive compensation.

Job Description:

As a Harvest and Hay Operator, you will be an essential part of our client's agricultural operations. The roles involve a range of pre-harvest duties, hay-making, and harvest tasks, including mechanical work, mowing, raking, baling, and stacking bales. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to adapt to various tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-hay/harvest duties, including setting up farm machinery.
  • Assist with firebreaks and some spreading activities.
  • Operate headers during the harvest season.
  • Engage in hay-making activities, including mowing, raking, baling, and stacking bales.
  • Utilize tractor operator skills and operate telehandlers and loaders.
  • Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by performing multiple duties as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

Desirable Skills:

  • Prior experience in hay making and baling.
  • Previous harvest experience.
  • MC or HR license.
  • Experience with large broad-acre machinery (mowers, balers, headers).
  • Ownership of a personal vehicle is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in tractor operation.
  • Competence in telehandler and loader operation.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to various tasks.
