Job Description:

As the Assistant Fruit and Veg Manager at our Byron Bay store, you will work closely with the Fruit and Veg Manager to lead, coach, and support our Fruit and Veg Team. Your role is vital in delivering a consistently excellent offer of fresh and convenient products to meet our customers' shopping needs. If you have a genuine passion for food, a customer-first mentality, and a love for teamwork, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Fruit and Veg Manager in daily operations, including stock management, merchandising, and pricing.
  • Uphold the highest standards of freshness, quality, and presentation for our fresh produce.
  • Lead and inspire the Fruit and Veg Team, providing guidance and training for exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Fruit and Veg Manager to develop strategies for departmental growth and improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support administrative tasks, including payroll and scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a retail or supermarket environment, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including quality indicators and storage requirements.
  • Customer-centric attitude and a genuine passion for food and shopping.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a changing environment.
  • Reliable and willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, days, late nights, and weekends.
