Job Description:

As an Applications Developer, you will be responsible for translating software requirements into functional programming code and maintaining and developing programs to support business operations. You will specialize in systems written in PowerBuilder and have a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented techniques. This role will require strong SQL skills, proficiency in writing and maintaining large stored procedures (T-SQL), and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain systems written in PowerBuilder, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in this field.
• Utilize strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented techniques to design and implement efficient software solutions.
• Write and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather and translate software requirements into technical specifications.
• Conduct code reviews, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Adhere to source control systems and best practices in software development.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills and an understanding of security concepts and techniques.
• Optionally, work on Visual Studio and C# development to complement PowerBuilder solutions.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing/maintaining systems written in PowerBuilder.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write and maintain large stored procedures (T-SQL).
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience with source control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to test, debug, and troubleshoot code.
• Knowledge of security concepts and techniques.

Desirable Criteria:

Experience with Visual Studio and C# development, especially for COM object development to work in conjunction with PowerBuilder solutions.
