Job Description:

As an Apiary Worker at Scandia Honey Corporation, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our apiary. You will work closely with our experienced beekeeping team to ensure the well-being of our bee colonies and the production of top-tier honey. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow in the field of beekeeping while working in the beautiful surroundings of Scandia, AB.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the care and maintenance of bee colonies, including feeding, inspecting, and monitoring hive health.
• Assisting with the extraction and processing of honey and other bee-related products.
• Conducting routine hive inspections and identifying and treating diseases or pests.
• Operating and maintaining apiary equipment and machinery.
• Supporting the team in seasonal tasks such as hive splitting and queen rearing.
• Participating in general farm and apiary maintenance as needed.
• Harvesting crops and honey bees.

Experience and Specialization:

• No degree, certificate, or diploma required; we provide training.
• Apiary and honey harvesting experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with harvesting honey, honey bees, and honey farm operations.
• Experience with automated honey extractor and other automated systems is an advantage.

Work Site Environment:

• Outdoors.
• Noisy, dusty, and hot conditions.
• Work setting in a rural area and remote location.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

• Physically demanding.
• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
• Walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
