About the Role:
As the Finance Manager at EARC, you will lead our Finance Team in delivering top-tier accounting and financial services to both internal and external stakeholders. This role presents an exciting opportunity as you contribute to the implementation of a new financial system from MagiQ Software. Your expertise in reporting design, process enhancements, and internal controls will play a pivotal role in EARC's progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Finance Team's operations, ensuring high-quality accounting and financial services.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of the new financial system, MagiQ Software.
- Develop and improve reporting designs, internal controls, and processes.
- Maintain a deep understanding of Accounting Standards, Australian Tax, Local Government regulations, and relevant guidelines.
- Translate Council requirements into comprehensive financial reports.
- Leverage strong computing skills, including advanced Excel and enterprise-level financial software.
- Exhibit leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Manage a small team efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications and Desirable Experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, business, or equivalent industry experience.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards, Australian Tax, Local Government regulations, and guidelines.
- Extensive corporate and performance reporting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level financial software or similar programs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Previous experience in managing a small team.
- Desirable: Experience living/working in remote First Nations communities within Australia.
- Desirable: High cross-cultural awareness for effective participation in a diverse workplace.
- Desirable: Awareness of issues affecting First Nations People in Australia.
- Must be willing to travel to remote communities using various transportation methods.
What You'll Receive:
- Full-time permanent employment with a salary of $124,312 per year (pre-superannuation contributions and locality allowance).
- 6 weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
- Relocation and repatriation assistance.
- Access to personal housing is required for this role.
