Position: Farm Supervisor
Location: Surrey, BC
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers
- Develop work schedules, establish procedures, and ensure adherence to farm safety and bio-security protocols
- Lead various crop-related activities, from mixing fertilizer to harvesting
- Supervise shearing with a knife and weeding operations
- Maintain accurate financial and production records
- Coordinate and provide crop services such as plowing, cultivating, and spraying
- Supervise more than 20 team members, ensuring quality control and adherence to production goals
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Collaborate with management to optimize crop growth and quality
- Foster a safe, productive, and positive work environment
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant farming experience
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to oversee a large team
- Knowledge of modern farming practices and equipment
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Physical fitness to perform various farm tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
