We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced full-time Accountant to join our Corporate office team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial operations are accurate, efficient, and aligned with our growth strategy. This position is based in Maugerville, New Brunswick, just outside Fredericton city limits.

Position Overview:

The Accountant role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will be responsible for various accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliation, payables and receivables processing, journal entries, tax filings, and participation in the month-end cycle. Your contributions will directly influence our financial accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Process payables and receivables
  • Complete bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations
  • Create and prepare journal entries
  • Handle monthly tax filings (HST/GST, QST, payroll remittances)
  • Assist in the full month-end cycle
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives
  • Support management in the preparation of reporting documents

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Self-driven, organized, and results-oriented with a positive outlook
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Post-secondary training in accounting
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the construction industry is an asset
  • Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional and multi-currency organizations is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Jonas Construction Software is a plus
  • Bilingualism is an asset
