Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pig Farmer with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of recent relevant work experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the farm, including breeding, farrowing, feeding, general maintenance, and administrative tasks. Strong communication, time management, and leadership skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the farm's daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective management
• Manage all aspects of pig farming, including breeding, farrowing, weaning, and growing
• Implement feeding management strategies and monitor animal health and welfare
• Perform general maintenance tasks and ensure compliance with animal welfare and OH&S regulations
• Provide guidance and training to team members when required
• Maintain accurate records and report on farm performance
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices and legislation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or higher equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of recent relevant work experience in pig farming
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient knowledge of animal husbandry, welfare, and piggery production
• Familiarity with computer programs/software is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work weekends and additional hours as needed

Remuneration:

A comprehensive salary package starting from $70,000 per annum (plus superannuation) will be offered to the successful candidate.
