Job Description:

As a Dairy Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the Dairy 4 Unit. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with milking and ensuring proper milking procedures are followed.
• Monitoring the health and welfare of the dairy herd, including feeding and herd management tasks.
• Conducting general farm maintenance duties, such as fencing and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborating with researchers, lecturers, and students on various farm-related activities.
• Contributing to the implementation of modern farming systems and research initiatives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience and a strong work ethic in dairy farming.
• Familiarity with large herd and multi-herd systems.
• Excellent animal husbandry skills and a commitment to animal welfare.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work on a 5 on 2 off roster, including weekends.
• Valid work visa allowing immediate availability.
