The Role:
As a Vineyard Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced vineyard team to ensure the proper care and maintenance of our vineyard. This is a hands-on role that involves various vineyard tasks throughout the year, including planting, pruning, canopy management, harvesting, and general vineyard maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with vineyard operations such as planting, pruning, trellis maintenance, canopy management, and harvesting.
- Monitor vine health and report any issues to the Vineyard Manager.
- Assist with irrigation and fertilization activities.
- Operate and maintain vineyard equipment and machinery.
- Participate in vineyard improvement projects and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in vineyard work or horticulture is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of vineyard operations and practices.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
