An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced Farm Manager to join a modern dairy operation in the Western Districts of Victoria. This pasture-based dairy farm, managed by a professional asset management company, operates 24/7 with a state-of-the-art robotic milking system. With a focus on Holstein cows and utilizing modern technologies, this role offers a unique chance to contribute to the farm's productivity and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day operations of the dairy, with a focus on herd and pasture management.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager on strategic farm planning and future development initiatives.
  • Drive milk production and profitability through effective management practices.
  • Utilize modern technologies, including robotic milking systems, for monitoring dairy cow health and optimizing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and animal welfare practices.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in dairy management, with a strong understanding of herd and pasture management.
  • Familiarity with modern dairy robotics or a keen interest in developing skills in this area.
  • Proven ability to drive milk production and optimize farm profitability.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Sound knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety practices, and animal welfare standards.
  • Full working rights in Australia and a valid driver's license.
