Green Valley Dairies Ltd is seeking an experienced and dedicated Calf Rearer to join our team at Marphona Farm in Mangatawhiri, Waikato. This is a full-time, year-round position with excellent opportunities for growth and development.
As the Main Calf Rearer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our well-established calf house, overseeing the rearing of approximately 1500 calves in autumn and 1000 calves in spring. Working alongside a supportive and hands-on manager, you will lead a team consisting of one full-time rearer and two part-time employees. In addition to calf rearing, the team also cares for our sheep and will soon be responsible for 150 free-range hens.
To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 2 years' experience in calf rearing and possess a keen eye for animal health. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate with the team and communicate effectively with management. Experience riding a quad with a calf feeder is required, and you should uphold cleanliness and tidiness standards to maintain a well-organized environment.

Our two-bedroom cottage, conveniently located just 200 meters from the calf house, provides comfortable accommodation.
Mangatawhiri is situated approximately 45 minutes southeast of Auckland airport, offering a peaceful rural lifestyle while still being within reach of city amenities. The area boasts excellent schooling options, with a great school just 3 minutes away.
